September 2009

ADAPS was granted permission to take photographs inside Dam House, Astley - the former Astley Hospital administration building, a Grade II listed building which dates back to 1595. We took a couple of female models along to make the most of this unusual location.

August 2009

Our annual open 'Photography Night' was a storming success. We threw open our doors and invited anyone from the local community with an interest in photography to come along and meet us and find out about joining us. The evening featured digital photography tips, advice on taking better photos, a display of our latest images, as well as free drinks and buffet. We were pleased to welcome over a dozen new visitors, several of whom will be back next week to join us.

Our series of photography trips continued with an evening of photography savouring the architectural splendour of Manchester Town Hall.

July 2009

ADAPS visited Manchester's famous Victoria Baths again this month for another location model photoshoot. We last visited two years ago and were impressed with the many photo opportunities. Many thanks to our models for another enjoyable shoot.

ADAPS members went out and about with our cameras again and enjoyed a leisurely photographic ramble around Rivington, with plenty of landscape photography help on hand for our beginners.

June 2009

ADAPS photographers were very kindly invited to an evening photoshoot in the Air and Space Hall at Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI).

March 2009

ADAPS held two studio portrait photography sessions to help those interested in studio work improve their skills - Friday 6th March and 13th March.

Several members have expressed an interest in some form of mentoring group to help them attain photographic distinctions. In ADAPS, Des and Myra Barr and Bert Haddock have already achieved the CPAGB (Credit with the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain). John Riley held the first meeting of the 'ADAPS CPAGB/DPAGB Mentoring Group' on Friday 27th March. See John's message on the ADAPS Forum or ask him for more information.

January 2009

ADAPS member Phil Boak held a workshop on Saturday 24th January for those interested in learning more about flash lighting and the use of flashguns. The workshop examined different lighting and creative photography techniques.

January again meant the ADAPS Annual Post-Christmas Meal. Around 60 members and partners enjoyed themselves at the Greyhound Hotel, Leigh, again. The Post-Christmas Meal has long been an ADAPS tradition and is always a popular social event. John M turned up in his kilt again!
