November
2008
ADAPS
member Peter Eaton is staging an exhibition of digital art at the Rivington
Galleries from 6th - 21st December.
October 2008
ADAPS members enjoyed another photography
trip - this time to Yorkshire's Fountains Abbey to take in 'Fountains Abbey
by Floodlight'. The ruined Cistercian abbey, now managed by the National Trust,
was bathed in floodlights, making for atmospheric photographs. The evening
also included choir performances, Gregorian Chants and guided tours.
September 2008
This month saw the annual ADAPS photography
exhibition taking place at Wigan's 'History Shop'. Our prints were on display
9th - 20th September.
August 2008
This month ADAPS photographers took their
cameras to visit the North Wales visitor attraction, Portmeirion - famous
as the location for the 1960's cult TV series 'The Prisoner'.
June 2008
ADAPS members visited Haddon Hall, a medieval
manor house in Bakewell, Derbyshire, where we were allowed the rare treat
of taking photographs inside the house, aswell as around the grounds.
May 2008
ADAPS members enjoyed a photography trip
to Oulton Park Motor Racing Circuit, Cheshire. The race day included the chance
to photograph motorcycles from 125cc to 1000cc sidecars and vintage.
April 2008
With more demand from ADAPS members looking
to improve their portrait techniques, we held another studio flash session
in our clubroom. Our two models were Emma and Michelle, who brought a touch
of dark glamour. These portrait nights give members valuable hands-on experience
of working in a studio environment and working with models.
March 2008
This month ADAPS published its first ever
Yearbook. The book features a varied selection of images from members spread
over 44 pages. The intention is to produce a new edition each year. Copies
may be ordered from John Riley, who was responsible for putting the book together
and getting it published. Thanks John!
January 2008
January again meant the ADAPS Annual Post-Christmas
Meal. Around 56 members and partners enjoyed themselves
at the Greyhound Hotel, Leigh. The Post-Christmas Meal has long
been an ADAPS tradition and is always a popular social event.
