November 2007

Keith Richardson has had more exposure in 'Lancashire Life' magazine, with an image of his featured in their new calendar - in the shops now. He also bagged £1000 worth of Olympus camera gear! Keith has also been busy helping to produce a calendar for churches in the St Helens area to raise funds.

October 2007

ADAPS husband and wife members Des and Myra Barr staged an exhibition of their photographs at Rivington Park Galleries, running from 5th October for two weeks. More information about the galleries can be found at www.rivingtonpark.com

September 2007

A small display of photographs by ADAPS members was on show at Leigh Parish Church until Monday 10th September. The photographs were taken as part of the club's visit to the church last November (see last year's Newspage).

This month ADAPS holds our annual prints exhibition, again in The History Shop, on Library Street, Wigan. The exhibition features a large number of prints from a good cross-section of members and shows the diversity of images being produced by the club. It runs from 11th - 25th September
.

ADAPS member Keith Richardson had two images featured in 'Lancashire Life' magazine this month, with shots of Lancaster's Town Hall and Williamson Park "under brooding Lancastrian skies". Congratulations Keith - and hopefully more to come...

August 2007

Congratulations to our member Peter Eaton, who has walked away with this year's Set Subject Competition on the theme of 'Creative Landscape' with his 'Mystical Horizons'. Though relatively new to club competitions, Peter has already won three trophies in our Annual Competition earlier in the year.

June 2007

We held a studio night this month using continuous (tungsten) lighting. Members enjoyed the chance to try some new techniques and learn the differences between using tungsten and studio flash, including aperture settings, slower shutter speeds and white balance issues for those shooting digital. We had a male model this time - many thanks to Rob.

May 2007

ADAPS members enjoyed a photography trip to Manchester's famous Victoria Baths. We were given the run of the pool areas and the outbuildings, as well as the areas underneath the pools. Many thanks to our models who, combined with the unusual scenery, gave plenty of scope for interesting images.

March 2007

With several new members keen to practise portraiture we staged two portrait sessions in our clubroom studio and also held a Photoshop workshop looking at various post-processing techniques for working with portraits. Many thanks to our models Maxine, Ruth, Sam and Lucy.

February 2007

ADAPS took part in a couple of inter-club battles this month. Our battle against St Helens Camera Club was a draw. In the North Cheshire Slides Knockout we took 8th place.

January 2007

We have put in place one of our New Year's resolutions - to buy new chairs for the ADAPS clubroom! The old chairs that have served us so well for all these years are gone and we have had many positive comments about the new chairs.

January meant the ADAPS Annual Post-Christmas Meal. Around 50 members and partners enjoyed good food and a good night out at the Greyhound Hotel, Leigh.
