ADAPS featured in 'Digital Photographer'

October 2003

This month we bid a fond farewell to one of our most long-standing members. After thirty years of service to ADAPS, Jez Huscroft, our treasurer and competition secretary is leaving to enjoy retirement in the Lake District. Members bought Jez a silver tankard as a leaving present. We wish him all the best!

September 2003

Club members enjoyed a photoshoot with our guest model Maxine and practised Rembrandt and glamour lighting techniques.

ADAPS' annual prints exhibition was shown in Wigan's 'History Shop'.

August 2003

Our annual Open Night attracted a large audience and it was great to see so many visitors come along to find out more about ADAPS. The night was a huge success and enjoyed by all and it's good to see some new members joining the club.

This year's Set Subject photo competition was themed around 'song titles' and we had a bumper entry from members. Congratulations to Dave Newton who took first place for Best Print and to Myra Barr who retained her title from last year for Best Slide.

July 2003

The club did well in the L&CPU Annual Competition 2003, with 11 of our entries retained for folio. Paul Jones' photograph 'Maxine (mono)' was also submitted to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) for display around the country. A special mention must go to Mike Syddall, whose photograph 'Mono in Colour' gained him a Certificate of Merit - well done Mike!

'Pentax User' magazine devoted a four page spread to ADAPS! A very favourable feature was accompanied by photographs from some of the club's Pentax users - John, Sue and Michael Riley, Len Hudson, Harry Gladson and Tommy Gough. This is our third magazine appearance so far this year!

June 2003

On Sunday 29th June club members enjoyed a photography ramble to the top of Rivington Pike, with lots of photo opportunities along the way. It was a glorious day, with the sun blazing down, so it was ice-creams all round when we got back to the Barn!

March 2003

The March issue of 'Digital Photographer' magazine had a double page spread devoted to ADAPS in their 'Club Focus' feature. An excellent write-up was accompanied by photographs from Barry Fairclough, Mike Syddall, Sue Riley and Paul Jones.

January 2003

The first issue of Amateur Photographer in the new year featured a full page portfolio spread on ADAPS. Works by Harry Gladson, John Riley and David Roberts were used to illustrate the article.
